can killifish fit in a ten gallon. if they can then what kind will fit in there. also how does the peat filtering work and where do i get the peat moss? my mom is going to set up an aquarium and i read that killifish dont need big tanks and are very attractive. although i dont know how the peat thing works. i will be doing more research myself but any information will help.

10 gallon will usually house a pair. You could also pick a small species, like clown killifish, and keep a small colony of them. Do keep in mind that most killifish are not long-lived, as they are seasonal in their native habitat.

Peat can be gotten at any nursery or garden center. MAKE SURE it’s straight peat, with no fertilizers or additives. Usually this is only sold in large bales, for very little money.

    Make sure that you will upgrade your tank in the future. Killifish should have enough space so it feel comfortable and secure. Never overcrowd you tank.
