Question by Joseph C: does anyone know about killifish?
i have a tank with guppies tetra corys and 2 ram cichlids. I currently saw a killifish in petsmart and really liked it alot. Does anyone know if i could have this in my 55 gallon tank. I know i have room for it. Is it a schooling fish? is it violent would it attack me other fish? What do i do for it?

Killi is from the Dutch word for Ditch where they are found. Killifish don’t need large tanks. 20 or 30 Gal is fine for them. Some types do best in same species tanks because some can be hard to keep due to them being very sensitive to water chemistry. They are similar to bettas. Males should not be kept together. but you can and should keep 2 females and one male. Or 2 pairs of 3.

So it depends on what type of killi you are looking to get.
