Killifish article Item ID: #127Q&A: Can a killifish be raised in a jar?Product Information:Question by emptywalletman123: Can a killifish be raised in a jar? Hi guys, long time no smell, anyway. I am getting some killifish and was wondering because I am short on space if they can grow up/ be raised, not breed, in one gallon jars? That would be better than me spending couple hundred dollars [...] Item DescriptionQuestion by emptywalletman123: Can a killifish be raised in a jar? Well, i would say no. It does not create enough space, and there is no space to put a filter or heater.
And it does not cost a couple hundred dollars to get a 5 GALLON tank, its a that much money to buy like a 50 gallon tank, a 5 gallon only cost, in stores, around 20-30 dollars with everything but a heater included.
Yes, or a bucket, or a cup or a jug (you get the idea)
Not any jar will do. for one kilifish youll need a jar about 2 gallons and youll need to pimp out said jar with proper filtration. Still it wont like you, get a 10 gallon tank for 10$ and a filter for it for 30$ and then get 8 kilifish (its about 1 gallon per inch of fish)
( i just realized your trying to make an economy breeding setup)
get a 10 gal with some tank dividers for couples or singles
If your selling them contact me, ive wanted some kilifish but havn’t found someone with either reasonable prices or cool breeds
no
Deja Vu. Are you on AquariaCentral?
If you are only keeping them til they are juvenlies it should be ok. It might be hard to filter all of them. It might be easier to get a long tank and divide it and filter the whole thing.
