Question by Liddy Besford: can clown killifish live in 17 gallons with dwarf gourami?
well i have 64 litre tank tht converts to 16.9 gallons so said 17 gallons but i wondered if these fish will live together in this tank and if either of them would be ok with limestone gravel i have this at the moment i will change it if not but i wondered if the fish would be ok? thnx also can i have a bit of general info on these fish and other fish that would work these fish??? cheers thnx

Yes, they should be OK. Limestone will naturally increase the pH so might not be the best choice since the fish are neutral to slightly acidic fish, and prefer soft water. Use of peat and malaysian driftwood will help soften the water and keep the pH lower. They do best at a pH 5.5-7.2 and a temperature of 23 – 26°C.

The killifish are jumpers, so it is best to have some sort of lid.

They get to about 4cm, and are better in a group and a planted tank.

They are not the annual killifish so live longer than many varieties of killifish.

They are generally peaceful and should do OK with the more peaceful dwarf gourami variety of fish.

Your tank is a great size for a small group.

THey also do well with rasbora and other smaller peaceful fishes.
