if you get a male and female betta, you need more than one female, because the goal of the female is to kill the male if she is not interested in breeding with him. If you get more than one female they will protect the male for later.

I always suggest getting more than one female.

It’s a matter of personal preference, but I think you’ll have more fun with a pair of one of the small killies, such as the orange lyretail, Aphyosemion australe.

    Go killifish!

    Bettas are passe.

I love Killifish and find them fascinating. I would strongly recommend Killi’s over bettas though that’s personal preference.

orange killies are nice but they only live a year, just know that.

If there golden killies they get massive so a ten gallon is out of the question.

You can get 3-4 female bettas, there compatible, are more active and have tons of personality.

    good luck!!!
